How are custom embroidery patches made? They are made by taking your artwork and digitizing your artwork into a format used in a computer-controlled digitizer. Once digitized, thread colors are loaded into the machine and thousands of stitches later, your logo is transformed into a company patch.

Here are a few things to consider when you create a custom patch or embroidery badge and we are here to help you every step of the way. Here are a few of the most important steps you need to consider before ordering. Sew-on patches: The most basic way to attach them.

They are sewn directly into the clothes. It's a permanent attach them.

Iron-on: Add a heat adhesive to their back. Once positioned on the garment, a cloth is placed over the image to protect it. Then a hot iron is placed briefly (20 to 30 seconds) on the cloth to melt the adhesive onto the garment fixing them in place. This is the simplest method of permanent attachment.

Adhesive Backing: Similar to the iron-on backing, but only works with smooth non-fabric surfaces. Velcro Backed: Hook-and-loop fasteners.

One part is on the back of the patch, and the other gets sewn onto the garment. This allows rapid, easy removal. This style is ideal for military uniforms and other circumstances where they might need to be removed often. It also allows for interchangeable on the same garment. Plastic backing: Used to iron them on.

This gives them extra support to maintain their shape. Button loops: A simple loop at the top to hang from a button or lapel pin. They can be removed to another garment quickly and easily. Determine the percentage coverage against the rest of your overall image. Why is this important? The price is determined by how many stitches are included?

Most logos include 75% to 100% percent coverage. You can have up to ten colors added at no additional charge.

Think about the fabric that will be embroidered, the fabric can be used to enhance your image. If you intend to see the fabric or the “background”, then your art would have 75%. If you cannot see any of the backgrounds, it classifies as 100%. Leather: We have the ability to embroider directly on. Metallic Threads are a great option if you need part of your logo to stand out. Metallic thread colors are limited however we do offer all the standard metallic threads.

Glow in the dark is a fun option when you want to stand out at night. 3D Embroidery has a sculpted look and even a puffy look. We recommend asking pre-production samples when adding 3D. Printed and woven patches offer a substantial amount of detail. Woven images use a much thinner thread and are woven into the background.

Printing has more of a photo-realistic-look to them, where your demising printed directly on to the background.
